Kale Hanson was born in Laramie, Wyoming, at Ivinson Memorial—the nearest hospital to his hometown of Walden, Colorado. His parents, Don and Anna Hanson, raised their five sons on a cattle ranch in North Park, a natural basin in the Rocky Mountains. Kale and his four older brothers developed a strong work ethic by working long hours operating Lighting Ridge Ranch.

After completing his degree in Phoenix, Kale worked as a Cost Engineer and later as a Project Controls Manager for Brown and Root, living in numerous states such as Arizona, Oklahoma, Southern California, Texas and West Virginia.

Garret is an investment advisor representative at Open Range Financial Group. He works alongside our financial advisors, including his father, to provide essential financial guidance and support to our clients. Garret has been with Open Range Financial Group since 2016, but his history with our firm goes back much farther.

He grew up watching his dad—our founder, Kale Hanson—make a difference in the lives of others through his work, and knew from a young age that he wanted to do the same.

Nicolas attended the University of Houston, where he followed the Personal Financial Planning track and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. After graduation, he worked at Edward Jones before joining us here at Open Range Financial Group.

As a financial advisor, he is passionate about educating people on the importance of planning for the future and helping them achieve a comfortable retirement. He enjoys making a positive difference in people’s lives, and prides himself on his transparency and open communication with his clients.

Sheila Miller is from Yazoo City, MS, but has been a Texas resident since 1989. She attended Jones County Junior College and has over 36 years of experience in the Financial Services and Insurance Industries. Sheila enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two siblings; and spends her spare time volunteering at her church, traveling, or with friends.
