Our founder, Kale Hanson, spent almost two decades at one of the country's largest broker-dealers, where every client got the same package: a mutual fund, a variable annuity, and a life insurance policy. They called it a "happy meal." It made every relationship a transaction, and that wasn't the kind of advisor Kale wanted to be.
In 2015 he started Open Range. Today, his son Garret leads the firm alongside Nicolas Sudderth, continuing the work Kale started. The firm is now based in Waco and still serves families across the Houston area, where it began.
